Half of me wants to tell Nico to take a break. With an album (Space Is Only Noise), single release (“Don’t Break My Love”), an EP with his side-project Darkside, and countless shows, it’s clear the guy is working his ass off and deserves a little R&R. The other half of me wants him to never take a break. Coming off an incredible year, Nico is starting 2012 no differently with his newest track “And I Say” featuring Scout Larue (yes, that’s little Bruce Willis/Demi Moore) and Will Epstein. The track resembles much of his material on Space Is Only Noise, with minimal-tribal percussion and ominously funky synths. LaRue’s vocal melody drifts through Jaar’s brooding atmosphere adding a touch of sensuality to the mellow groove. Saxophone accents are sprinkled throughout the track adding urban grit the dimly lit track. Check the phenomenal piece below-
