Karin Dreijer Andersson – “No Face”

We Are The Works In Progress (2012)

We know Karin Dreijer Andersson as the phenomenal voice behind the crazed sibling duo The Knife and solo project Fever Ray. For the Blonde Redhead constructed compilation We Are The Works In Progress, whose proceeds will go to aid those affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the singer provides a new track released under her real name.

If you are looking for another “Silent Shout” or “When I Grow Up” from Karin, then you may be disappointed. “No Face” was originally intended for her soundtrack to the stage production of Ingmar Bergman’s Hour Of The Wolf, and the song’s wordless chants and hauntingly distorted background definitely would have created the perfect, spooky atmosphere.

We Are The Works In Progress will be out January 10 and features quite the star studded lineup. New material from Deerhunter, Liars, Panthu Du Prince, Broadcast, and John Maus will also be featured. That little Four Tet jam “Moma” we posted this month will also make an appearance.
