Hectic Zeniths- “Curtain”

Hectic Zeniths- "Curtain"

Here’s a modern day rarity: Adam Morgan Prince, otherwise known as Hectic Zeniths, is a bedroom producer that does not solely rely on turntables and samples. “Curtain” builds itself off a spiraling, original piano recording weaving through layers only the most eclectic vinyl crates can supply. To make this smooth, downtempo electronic track feel even warmer, Prince employed a violinist, a guitarist, and a drummer. Here’s an example to live by for the kids who have put their music in the hands of Reason or Ableton. Electronic music with real drum beats can sound beautiful.

Hectic Zeniths is an anagram for the German word Zeitschtichten, which translates to “Layers of Time.” Listen to Prince’s production once and you will understand why that is a perfectly fitting name. Currently a high school math teacher residing in Philadelphia, let’s hope we hear him apply his formulas to the studio again in the very near future.
