Beat Radio – “Teenage Anthem For The Drunken Boat”

It’s funny how much time you spend as a teenager wanting to grow up, and how much time spend grown up wishing you could go back to a those now seemingly-simple years.  I know, I know, a cliche statement that I normally wouldn’t write if it didn’t seem so true.  Thus it comes as no surprise at how bittersweet a song encapsulating everything wonderful and shitty about those years can be- especially one as well crafted as Beat Radio’s “Teenage Anthem For The Drunken Boat”.  The song immediately pulls at your heart-strings with a glistening guitar riff and lyrics about mixtapes and late-night car rides.  As the track builds, we fast forward to the time of revisiting old loves, smoking on roof tops, and talks of sons and daughters.  It could be that the song hits me so hard because of it’s clear description of my life at the current moment, or it’s just that damn good of a song.  Listen and see for yourself…
