“Surgeon” is our first look into the highly anticipated new album Strange Mercy from indie darling St. Vincent. The track couldn’t be more appropriate for a lazy week’s end- filled with hazy synths, warm strings, and Annie Clark’s honey-dipped vocals. In typical St. Vincent fashion, the song really comes alive when you take a second look at all of the intricacies beneath its easy-to-love surface. The choppy chorus guitars lend a nice break from the free-floating verses, all of which culminate into quite the epic 80′s synth jam. Get groovy and have a great Sunday!
