Shackleton – Deadman & Fireworks

Ever since Sam Shackleton produced an exclusive album for Fabric (55), I have been itching for singles off that release. In the past couple of months, Honest Jon’s, Blur frontman Damon Albarn’s label, has released two massive Shackleton pressings – Deadman and Fireworks. A sampling of these two releases (featured below) exemplifies best the soul-searching that Shackleton’s music evokes (not for the lighthearted).

I read a comment recently categorizing Shackleton’s music as “Industrial Voodoo.” I am not going to sit here and debate the merits of such an assertion. It’s best you take a listen yourself and delve into his mystique – a post 2AM must.
