It’s easy to toss around the line “music can save the world” and have it come off sounding pretty empty. Perhaps because what is missing from that statement is the action coupled with, or inspired by, the music, to witness actual change. The Red Hot organization is doing a beautiful job taking action, and utilizing incredible compilations to raise money for the awareness and fight against AIDS. Dark Was The Night, was a huge success, and Red Hot + Rio 2 (out June 28th) looks equally as interesting. The compilation finds artists such as Beck, Seu Jorge, Aloe Blacc, and David Byrne covering songs from the 1960′s Brazilian Tropicalia movement.
