Nostalgia 77- Relics Mix + “Simmer Down” + White Stripes Cover

Nostalgia 77

Nostalgia 77 is Ben Lamdin, a British mastermind of Jazz, Hip-hop, and Soul music who’s now three albums, eight singles, and one remix collection deep for the label Tru Thoughts. Lamdin’s fourth studio record The Sleepwalking Society will be released March 21st, and I’m sure it will only add more breadth to his insanely classy, always interesting catalog.

To gear up for the release, Lamdin has prepared the Relics mix for Wax Poetics and it features a strong sneak peak into London’s underground Jazz scene.  You can find several of these artists on his own label, Impossible Ark.  Listen to the mix below.  Also, treat yourself with two Nostalgia 77 highlights: a video for The Sleepwalking Society‘s lead single “Simmer Down” with Josa Peit and the incredible cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” featuring Alice Russell.

Skeletons – Elephants – Koka / Universal
