I am always intrigued with the evolution of a song. What starts in the brain of the writer makes it was to instrument and melody, to recordings and computers, to arrangements and some sort of live explosion (not necessarily in that order). However with Spoon, the path seems to be shorter than most (demos appearing on final albums) leaving the listener with the candid rock ‘n’ roll that Spoon is best known for. All thrills to frills. However after listening to the demo of “Nobody Gets Me But You” you are able to see the band is more than capable of taking a Britt Daniels sketch and creating quintessential Spoon groove.
