Here is what little can be found on the band Vinyl Skyway; they were a band for five years, released 2 full length albums, and then broke up in 2008. When I first heard the song “Elvis Costello”- I immediately thought this must be an old Wilco bootleg. The voice draws obvious comparisons to early Tweedy, and the band is warm and worn in. It’s a simple song with poignant lyrics about breaking windows, ratting on your friends, smoking bowls, and listening to- yep, Elvis Costello. It’s a song that would fit perfectly on Being There, or really any Ryan Adams album- and none of that is a bad thing. Check it out below…
